Enate is one of the big names when it comes to Spanish wine. The Bodega lies in a wine region rich in tradition, the Somontano. Somontano means at the foot of the mountains, here therefore protected at the foot of the Pyrenees. The name of Bodega is derived from the small village Enateof Somontano, not far from Barbastro. This is where most of their vineyards are located. The wines are produced exclusively from our own vineyards and the vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of organic viticulture. The Bodega team is young, highly motivated and well trained.
Enate has set high standards right from the start. The declared goal is to make wines for the world's best. Jesus Artajona, one of Spain's most distinguished winemakers, contributes a great deal to this. He studied in Bordeaux viticulture, then worked on various estates in Bordeaux. One of them is the famous Chateau Margaux. His handwriting and credo are wines characterized by terroir, soft tannins and a French style. Wines with strength and vitality, but above all wines with great elegance.
From the very beginning, art has played Enatea central role. The wines are true works of art, each bottle an image of contemporary art. Therefore, has Enateasked all major living Spanish artists to paint for them. The result is an art gallery with more than 100 paintings. Among them are all the great names of contemporary Spanish painting, such as Tapies, Chillida, Saura or Torner. In order to continue the artistic heritage, the collection will be completed by young artists, participants of the EnateEnArte Award. The motifs for the labels of the wines are selected from the paintings in the collection. This idea was decisive in the construction of the Bodega. The architectural language of form is modern and of classical simplicity. Enateis all around a total work of art.
