>Almost 100 years ago Ines Rosales, near Seville, began to bake her tortas. First they were a speciality in this area, nowadays there are tortas in many countries of the world. However, they are still made by hand according to the same recipe. And every single piece is still lovingly wrapped in traditional paper to keep it fresh. Ines Rosales is a tradition that tastes good and inspires.
Every Spaniard knows the tortas of Ines Rosales. As a dessert, as a small snack, as a companion to breakfast or to coffee, Ines Rosales ruthless tortas come on the table, wrapped in the silky paper of tradition, broken into pieces and then everyone picks them up quickly.
The Torta is a flat disk, with a diameter of about 12 cm. It is made from the finest wheat flour, sugar and the best olives. The special feature is the fine spice and the crisp bite. Sesame nuts and a hint of aniseed give the tortas of Ines Rosales their unmistakable personality. They have elegance and a delicate freshness, it is a pleasure to bite into them as they are crispy but at the same time very fluffy. The tortas are available both as a salty and as a savoury variety.
The Tortita Nevada is an Andalusian speciality made from short pastry refined with cinnamon and finally sprinkled with icing sugar. A delicious discovery not only for Christmas time.
